You think you know all about God

I came across a very interesting verse in the bible; 2 Kings 20:1-6 God tells king Hezekiah he is going to die! But Hezekiah goes to the Lord in prayer and God changes his mind and adds 15 years to his life. Does God really foreknow the future? This will be an interesting study as we move into this new year!

2 Kings 20:1-6

Hezekiah’s Illness

20 In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, “This is what the Lord says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.”
Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, “Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
Before Isaiah had left the middle court, the word of the Lord came to him: “Go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the Lord. I will add fifteen years to your life. And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city for my sake and for the sake of my servant David.’”
This Sunday: We will have our first service at our new location Immanuel Methodist Church, 800 North Main Edwardsville. Our service will begin at 12:00 noon. This will be a new beginning for us in several ways. We will be welcoming a new addition to our music program. We have hired Matt Conway as our new keyboard player and music director. He will share directing responsibilities with Bonni. After our last service at the Crystal Garden Bill Diggs resigned his position with us as our Keyboard player. Bill has been with us for many years and we will miss him. Bill's parents are having serious health issues and playing for two churches was just too much for him to continue. If you get a chance please send Bill a thank you for all of his service and talents he has shared with us. Bills address is 2908 Petticoat Junction Lane, Glen Carbon Il. 62034
I am looking forward to this kickoff Sunday at our new location. We are going to start dreaming big, worshipping with lots of joy, and working together with an amazing group of people at Immanuel Methodist! See you Sunday at 12:00 noon!  It's going to be WONDERFUL!
Love, pastor kent
