Is The Life You Are Living Fantastic?

For those of you who missed the service  yesterday I want to share with you what the "One Thing" is as I promised on yesterdays blog.

The premise of my sermon was this,  "If I had to boil down everything in the bible and all the books I have ever read about improving ones life. If I had to make one suggestion to anyone wanting to improve the quality of their life in the fastest way possible."  This would be what I call the short cut to the best, most fulfilling life you can possibly live!

It doesn't involve getting a degree, losing weight, getting a better job, buying a new suit or improving your resume or making more money. Are you ready? Here it is: "Increase Your Capacity to Love Others!"

Ok Great but how do I do that you might ask? Start with meditation on this one scripture every day until it begins to sink into your soul, into your heart, and most importantly into every relationship you currently have. The effects are profound and life changing.

1 Corinthians 13New International Version (NIV)

13 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poorand give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
I pray that you will take the time to meditate on this life changing scripture. It's about grasping the God empowered love that is available to everyone. This is the kind of love that will change your world as well as the world of those around you.

See you soon! Love, pastor kent
